Young Adults Can Get Employment Services at Labor and Regulation Department
PIERRE, S.D. -- As March comes to an end, many young adults are thinking about their summer plans. These plans should include a visit to their Department of Labor and Regulation (DLR) local office for a wide array of valuable employment services.
"We can help young adults focus on their future career goals and how to reach them," said state Labor and Regulation Secretary Marcia Hultman. "I encourage high school students, college students and recent graduates to take advantage of the employment services we offer."
Employment specialists work one-on-one with job seekers to offer career planning, job search assistance, National Career Readiness Certification, application assistance and resume preparation.
"This summer, we are focused on getting young adults additional skills through a work experience related to their occupational goals," said Secretary Hultman. "We can help find opportunities appropriate and beneficial to their needs."
For eligible applicants, the comprehensive workforce training program, also known as the Workforce Investment Act, offers paid work experiences, on-the-job training, tuition assistance and much more.
If you are a young adult or know a young adult who would like to gain work experience this summer, explore this website or find a DLR local office near you.
